For papers to be served personally: A wide range of court papers and inmates in the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office can be personally served through this division. Fees are determined by location and can be found on the following Fee Schedule (please note that each paper served is charged a fee which means that multiple services to the same address requires more than one fee). Types of papers served by this department are:
- Summons and Complaints
- Affidavits and Claims
- Order to Show Cause
- Summons/Landlord Tenant
- Divorce Papers
- Personal Protection Orders (PPO’s)

Please note: Any information regarding the person(s) being served such as: type of car driven, hours of employment, hours most likely to be at address, description, etc. would be appreciated and could expedite service.
Process Service Fees
Effective January 1, 2017
All fees are payable after service and are calculated per person/company to be served.
Payments can be made with Cash, Check, Money Order, Cashier’s Check or Credit Card, made payable to Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office.
Fee for service-
PPO - $25.00 must be paid before service unless fees are waived by the court
Affidavit & Claim, Motion, Notice, Order to Show Cause, Summons/Landlord-Tenant, Subpoena and Summons & Complaint - $23.00 plus mileage.
Order of Eviction - $37.00 plus mileage
Adjournment - $8.00
Mortgage Foreclosure Sale - $50.00
Mileage rate is determined as the round trip distance between the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office, 111 S. Second Street, Roscommon, MI 48653 to the address of the party to be served.
Run the mileage using Google maps, multiply by 2, then multiply .8775 mileage fee.
