[ARCHIVED] Legal Notice for Gypsy Moth Treatment

Legal Notice for Gypsy Moth Treatment

The treatment for gypsy moth in Roscommon County

WILL BEGIN SOMETIME ON OR AFTER

MONDAY --- MAY 22, 2017

Since unforeseen variables could change this date, stay tuned to the following radio stations for further announcements:

WUPS 98.5FM, WGRY 100.3FM, WQON 101.1FM, and WGRY 1230AM

The material being applied is Foray 48B - Certified for Organic Gardening

This material contains Bacillus thuringiensis, a soil bacterium specifically lethal to 1st through 3rd instar feeding caterpillars.

This material will be aerially applied by:

 AL’S AERIAL SPRAYING, LLC;

  3473 N. SHEPARDSVILLE RD; OVID MI 48866 (989) 834-5067

  This application will occur in low wind, high humidity conditions typically associated with early morning or mid evening.

Once spraying has begun, the exact day and time an individual block will be sprayed cannot be known because of variables in the weather, mechanical difficulties, and pilot preference.

Knowing the acreage involved in the 2017 program, the spray planes will be operating in the county for a minimum of 1 day.
